For the fourth consecutive year, Lubbock and South Plains residents can help their favorite charity secure "rewards" ranging from $10,000 to $3,000 by participating in the Community Rewards program sponsored by City Bank.
City Bank will make available a total of $50,000 to be awarded to 10 local nonprofits to assist them in carrying out their missions of hope and service to people in need in our city and area.
We encouraged each charity to rally their friends and donors to vote to maximize their chance of finishing in the top 10 and receive a "reward" gift. Balloting is limited to one vote per day per computer (IP address) starting Sunday, Nov. 6, and ending at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. Votes will be calculated during that period and the top 10 winning charities, determined by vote totals, will be announced during the week of Christmas.
Here are the Top 10 Winners for Community Rewards! Thank you all for participating! Happy Holidays!

There are two significant rule changes this year. First, nonprofits that have received "rewards" during the past two years are ineligible this year. That makes the competition wide open. Second, balloting is limited to one vote per computer (IP address) per day during the voting period. Please remember that software-generated or other systematic voting goes against the spirit of the program and can lead to disqualification.

One of City Bank's guiding philosophies throughout its history has been to be a staunch corporate citizen and regularly give back to our community. That is why Community Rewards was launched. Through it, City Bank has contributed $160,000 to 19 different nonprofit agencies and school support groups during its first three years. This year we will make available $50,000 to qualifying nonprofits agencies. The funds will be awarded in one $10,000 gift, five $5,000 gifts and four $3,000 gifts during the week of Christmas. Six "early rewards" totaling $3,000 have already been presented. Any nonprofit agency or organization in Lubbock and on the South Plains was eligible to register to participate. Registration deadline was Friday, Oct. 28.
